For an exciting day out, head for LEGOLAND Windsor and enjoy over 50 interactive rides, live shows and attractions that’ll keep the whole family entertained. Set in 150 acres of beautiful parkland, LEGOLAND is more fun than you can imagine for children aged 2-12 and their families. This season the park is boasting a magnificent seven new attractions plus a top line up of special events so there’s no better time to visit!
THORPE PARK (11 miles)
Thorpe Park is everything that the Thrill Seeker dreams of, with rides that will raise the hairs on the back of your neck. Thorpe Park boasts Colossus, Nemesis Inferno, Detonator, Vortex and many more.
You may think that Thorpe Park is all about Extreme Thrills but they also offer exciting rides for those who prefer laughing to screaming. Their Thrilling & Fun rides range from riding the Ribena Rumba Rapids to taking the Thorpe Park train from Canada Creek.
Thorpe Park has also developed a wide range of activities suitable for families with young children. As well as offering parent friendly facilities such as Baby Changing and Buggy Hire, Thorpe Park has a multitude of rides and experiences aimed at the Younger Guests. These range from areas reserved for young families (such as Neptune's Beach) to the animals at Thorpe Farm.
WINDSOR CASTLE (10 Miles)
Windsor Castle is an official residence of The Queen and the largest occupied castle in the world. A royal palace and fortress for over 900 years, the Castle remains a working palace today. Visitors can walk around the State Apartments, extensive suites of rooms at the heart of the working palace; for part of the year visitors can also see the Semi State rooms, which are some of the most splendid interiors in the castle. They are furnished with treasures from the Royal Collection including paintings by Holbein, Rubens, Van Dyck and Lawrence, fine tapestries and porcelain, sculpture and armour.
Within the Castle complex there are many additional attractions. In the Drawings Gallery regular exhibitions of treasures from the Royal Library are mounted. Another popular feature is the Queen Mary's Dolls' House, a miniature mansion built to perfection. The fourteenth-century St. George's Chapel is the burial place of ten sovereigns, home of the Order of the Garter, and setting for many royal weddings. Nearby on the Windsor Estate is Frogmore House, an attractive country residence with strong associations to three queens - Queen Charlotte, Queen Victoria and Queen Mary.
CHESSINGTON WORLD OF ADVENTURE (25 Miles)
Chessington really is the park for all the family. 90% of the Park's rides and attractions are suitable for children under 12, from Land of the Dragons - a whole themed land especially for mini sized adventurers - to the chance to come face to face with amazing animals.
KEW GARDENS (9 miles)
Kew is a wonderful place to explore. Take a walk through the Gardens and discover beautiful vistas, lakes and pathways. Visit the steamiest rainforest in London. Built over 150 years ago, the Palm House is home to bananas, breadfruit, coconuts, sago palmsa and many other exotic plants. It is also Kew's most famous building and a world icon. The nearby Temperate House is now the world's largest surviving Victorian glass structure, covering a huge 4,880 square metres. It holds a rich collection of woody, tender plants from Asia, New Zealand, South Africa and the Mediterranean. Opened in 1987, the Princess of Wales Conservatory commemorates Princes Augusta, who founded the original Botanic Gardens in 1759. Ten different micro-climates cover the whole range of conditions in the tripics, ranging from scorching arid desert to moist tropical rainforest; all computer-controlled under one roof.
